The fame of Casciana has grown over the centuries thanks to the properties of

DISORDERS OF THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM
For dealing with these problems our hydro-massage is a spa treatment which consists of staying immersed for about 20 minutes in 35,7°C thermal water
rich in carbon dioxide, which helps to dilate the peripheral blood vessels, thus
aiding the circulation. To this is added an underwater massage performed by one
of the staff. This spa treatment is recommended in the case of chronic circulatory insufficiency, the post-phlebitis
syndrome, varicose veins, capillary pathologies and venous stasis accompanied
by a peripheral oedema. The spa waters of the Terme di Casciana are particularly effective in cases of sciatica.

RHEUMATISM AND ARTHOSIS
Our spa mud provides an effective answer to these problems. The spa treatment consists of the application to the affected joints of clay + thermal water at
a temperature of 45-50° for a period of about 20 minutes, followed by a thermal
bath at 35,7° for about 10 minutes. This is to be recommended in the treatment
of chronic rheumatoid arthritis, in its various forms affecting different parts
of the body, in cases of gout and the after effects of injuries and surgical operations.

MINERAL WATER TREATMENTS
With their content of sodium-bicarbonate and calcium the spa waters are effective in cases of liver poisoning, whatever the cause (dietary or pharmaceutical),
as also in those of dyskenesia of the bile ducts, owing to the protection afforded
to the liver by the sulphate ion. They are also useful in cases of gout and excessive
cholesterol.

RHINITIS, PHARYNGITIS, BRONCHITIS
With the use of aerosol methods, these spa waters are beneficially employed in the treatment of all maladies of the throat and
nose, such as sinusitis, rhinosinusitis and tracheitis, especially in children
in whom they strengthen the immune system. The application can be carried out
through either the mouth or nose, both with aerosol therapy and with warmj vapours,
particularly recommended in chronic pharyngitis and laryngitis.
